TASCAM's US-4x4 combines great audio quality and ergonomic design for a powerful 4-in/4-out USB 2.0 interface. Four of TASCAM's Ultra-HDDA mic/line preamps provide up to 57dB or gain with nearly inaudible noise and distortion specs. The audio design features high-performance, musical components like NE5532 op amps for rich sound quality without coloring the source. The US-4x4 is powered through its USB 2.0 connection or an optional power adapter. Driverless operation is possible for plug-and-play operation on Mac OSX and iOS devices like the iPad, and a simple driver adds ASIO compatibility for Windows. MIDI in and out are also included for connecting synths, drum machines, and controllers. The interface includes two DAW applications to choose from - both Cakewalk SONAR X3 LE and Abelton Live Lite 9. The MIDI Solutions Merger is a 2-in 1-out MIDI Merger. All MIDI messages appearing at the two inputs are merged to the output (including System Exclusive and MIDI Time Code messages). A fast merging algorithm ensures that the MIDI data is processed with minimal delay. The Merger is MIDI-powered, and requires no batteries or power supply to operate with most products (see FAQs - Power for more information). A MIDI indicator LED lights up when the product is powered and flashes when MIDI data passes through it. MIDI Solutions Mergers allow you to connect multiple MIDI Outs or Thrus to a single MIDI In. For example, if you are using a few MIDI keyboards and need to connect them to a sound module with a single MIDI input, a merger can be used to merge the keyboards' outputs to that input. Mergers can also be used to merge System Exclusive data from sound modules back to computers running editor/librarian applications. This enables you to free up inputs of your MIDI interface which otherwise would have been used by the individual outputs of each sound module. Another novel application for mergers is expanding the merging capabilities of MIDI patchbays that allow merging of only two MIDI inputs at a time. By connecting a patchbay's outputs to a merger and then looping the output of the merger back into the patchbay, you can effectively add more merging capabilities to the patchbay. The outboard merger can be thought of as in additional processor that is accessed simply by changing ...
