DBX AFS-224 Dual Channel Advanced Feedback Supression
The AFS 224 Advanced Feedback Suppression processor was designed to provide state-of-the art feedback elimination processing, while maintaining a simple and intuitive control interface. From the powerful DSP module to the no-nonsense user interface, the AFS 224 provides all the processing and control necessary for both installation and live use. The AFS 224 is an absolute must for any live sound application. Ten and twelve filter feedback elimination processors have become the de facto standard, but the engineering staff at dbx have never been quite content residing in the neighborhood of the status quo. So, to raise the bar once again, they went out and developed a dedicated feedback suppression processor that offers up to 24 filters per channel with filter Qs up to 1/80 of an octave. To achieve these staggering numbers dbx utilized their patent-pending AFS technology that had previously only been available in the upper echelon line of products and made it available in this stand-alone processor, which takes all of the guesswork out of feedback removal. In addition to the plethora of feedback suppression filters available, the AFS 224 also offers selectable modes, live filter lift, and types of filtration, which are all readily available via the intuitive user interface front panel.

The dbx 223xs is a dual channel crossover with all the features you would expect from a professional product. It features Linkwitz-Riley 24dB per octave filters, independent output gain controls for level matching, output phase inversion, 40 Hz low cut filter, and optional mono summing of the low frequency (subwoofer) output. Everything in the design exudes great precision from the solid "click" controls to the high quality XLR inputs and outputs.

The HQ231 features ARTs proprietary FDC Feedback Detection Circuit, with constant Q circuitry capable of delivering a 3 center frequency accuracy. Professional features like LED level metering, selectable 6dB or 12dB slider range, active balanced and unbalanced input output connectors, RFI filters, independent variable Hi Pass low cut and Low Pass high cut filters, variable input level control, passive bypass switch, clip level indicator, ground lift switch, and selectable line voltage switch make it ideal for any professional application or touring system. FDC Feedback Detection Circuit - FDC Feedback Detection Circuitry designed and developed by ART Engineering instantly illuminates an LED on the corresponding EQ band fader with the greatest sustained signal. The LED indicators can immediately show which band corresponds to the feedback frequency, allowing the sound engineer to reduce gain in that band to quickly kill the feedback while having a minimal impact on the sound of the live program material. The FDC also acts as a simple spectrum viewer while the concert proceeds showing where the hot areas are. During system setup and sound check, the FDC may be used to help identify room and sound system resonances. By increasing the gain until feedback, it is easy to identify those frequencies that are likely to be problems. Reducing the gain in these bands helps tune the sound system, and, remove problem areas before the show begins. It also helps increase the gain margin before feedback.
